SEPTEMBER THREAD - updated regularly

1) Given a square ABCD and E and F are the midpoints of sides CD and DA then what is d ratio of area of the triangle BEA and the square ABCD...
options were...1) 3/8 2) 5/8 3)1/2
ans is 1/2

2) The average length of 5 frogs is 4.7m. another 5 frogs length are ( given some 5 no.'s here) like 4.5,5....( this questions is repeating many times rite from sep 3rd..So practice well)
cola....standard deviation of the lengths of 1st 5 frog’s
colb.....standard deviation of next 5 frogs.....

3) The near value of 10000 + sqrt (568.01+ 623.01)
a) 5000(no was in some 500 change)b) 6000c) 9000d) 10100e) 20200
Ans d

4) xyz=0 && x>y
col a.....xz
colb..... yz
and ans is D.
since if u take z=0 den ans is c and if u take y=0 (becoz x can’t be 0 as x>y) and x=1 and z=2..den ans is a..So dats y d final ans is d

5. The mean of the three numbers 2X, 7X, X^2 (X square) is 12 what is the range of the given data (X<0).>

Sol: (2X+7X+X^2)/3 = 129
X+X^2=36X^2+9X-36=0
By solving the roots are 3 and –12, but it is given that X<0 x=" -12">
Range = Highest commodity – lowest commodity= 144- (-84)= 228

6.) 2X+3Y=4 what is the X- intercept of the line
Sol: 2X/4 + 3Y/4 = 1
X/2 + Y/4/3 = 1
X- intercept is 2

7 .The Three vertices of a parallelogram is given as (0, 0) (1, 2) (3, 3) and asked to find out the fourth vertices. Sol: The answer is (2, 1), Figure is given and by that it is very easy to answer that question

8)There was a sum based on co-ordinate geometry-a parallelogram was given with one vertices at 0 and two more in +ve xy plane-we were asked to find the 4 the co-ordinate geometry was sort of vague
(5x+6/5x-6) =col a
(5x-6)/(5x+)=col b

9 A circle is drawn inside an other circle, the center of both circles are the same, the radius of the first circle is X and the radius of the second circle is X+Y, we are asked to find out the probability that if a point is taken from the circle the point should lie in the smaller circle of radius X.
Sol: Area of smaller circle = Pi (X^2)
Area of larger circle = Pi (X+Y) ^2
the probability = Number of favorable chance / Total number of chance= (X^2) / (X+Y) ^ 2

10. There are 84 people who watch television and 72 members use pagers and X members watch only Television.
Col A--------------------- Number of people uses only pagers
Col B----------------------X – 12
Sol: Draw a Venn diagram Total number of ppl who watch television = 84.
No of ppl who watch TV and use pager = 84-X
Number of ppl who use only pager = 72- (84 – X) = 72- 84 + X= X- 12
Therefore C is the answer.

11. Find the Y – intercept of the equation 3X-2Y=5
Sol: X/ (5/3) + Y/ (-5/2) = 1, Therefore the Y intercept is: -5/2

12. The amount of Rs.600/- is given at a rate of X% per annum , If he receives additional Rs.90/- after an year then what is the rate of interest ( i.e.- X )
So ans 15%

13. 90 13. 90
Col A ---------------The perimeter of the Triangle
Col B----------------- 24

Sol: If X = 90 then triangle is a RAT ( right angle triangle ), which satisfies Pythagorean theorem from which third side is 10 , then perimeter of triangle is 24 ( 6 + 8 + 10 ), but it is clearly given that 90
Ans) 8 times

15) X1, x2......x6 are numbers such that every number is 1/2 less than previous number
if x2+x4+x6=42
x1+x3+x5= ?
a) 24b) 42c) 84d) 104
Ans) 84

16) xy<0
cola-------------------/xy/
colb-------------- /x/+/y/
ans) D

17) Given a circle 72 deg of the circle is shaded, now circle will look like sector with x, a, b points on the sector. Area of shaded region (sector) was 5pie\9find length of arc.
a)2pi\3b)pi\4c)pi\2d)5pi\2e) 3pi\2
ans)A

18) two points on coordinate axis r given (3,3) (-5,-5) which lie on line l and line k is perpendicular to l.options include two pairs of points ex:(7,-3) (3,8)asked to find points which do not lie on line
