A can complete a work in 10 days, B & C take 15 & 20 days resp. to complete same work
if A starts the work and works at it for 1 day than B & C joins and A leaves & both work 2gether for 1 day & than B leaves. How long will C take to complete the work??
this was asked on 4th july in Ahm.

soln: 15.66 days
If A completes a work in 10 days.. he completes 1/10 of the work in a day.. similarly 1/15 for B and 1/20 for C
so now.. A works for a day --> 1/10 of the work is done
B & C work 2gether for 1 day --> 1/15+1/20 =7/60 of the work is done
work completed = 1/10+7/60 = 13/60 of the total work
work remaning = 47/60
Since C completes 1/20 of the work in 1 day, C will take (47/60)/(1/20)=47/3=15.66 days to complete the work

2)(3,9) is one vertex of an Equilateral triangle and the equation of its opposite side is 3x + 4y - 10 = 0. ( root3=1.732)
Column A: Area of the equilateral triangle in sq. units
Column B: 24.5

Ans)col A

given the vertex (3,9) and one side so now the perpendicular distance bet 3x + 4y - 10 and the vertex is 7..............
Now let the sides of equil be x,x,x now per divides the side into two equal parts x/2,x/2 so frm one right angled triangle we get
7^2+(x/2)^2=x^2 so x=14/sq(3) now we have sides of equil triangle as 14/sq(3),14/sq(3),14/(sq(3)....
so are is sq(3)/4 * 14*14/3= 49/sq(3) > 24.5ie 49/2 so colm A greate

We have s:a:w=1:50:100
as the ratio of s:a is halved ....so,s:a=1:100
and s:w is doubled......s:w=1:50
therefore the ratio becomes s:a:w=1:100:50
volume of water is 80*50=4000cc...............
